Absolute and Ultimate Bet Merge - Form Cereus Network:  Nov 25, 2008 6:00 AM CST

Ultimate Bet (UB) and Absolute Poker (AB) have merged their player bases into a new network they're calling Cereus. Absolute Poker Statement | Ultimate Bet Statement

Absolute Poker had previously purchased Ultimate Bet on Oct 13th, 2006 for a reported $130 Million USD.

In almost all aspects, this is a closing of the Ultimate Bet software and network, which is being re-opened as a skin of Absolute (see screenshots below).

NH BRA will rename the Absolute Poker network "Cereus", the abbreviation code will remain "ab". NH BRA will not be combining our historical Ultimate Bet player data with Absolute Poker data. Absolute, Ultimate Bet (and their skins, once verified) will become skins of the Cereus Network

Side-effect notes (this will be updated as we know more):

Some lower traffic games (Triple Draw, Pineapple) not available on Absolute Poker were cut from Ultimate Bet on July 8th, 2008. Other games from UB did not make the cut during the transition today (Royal Holdem, Kill).

Ultimate Bet NL/PL Cash Game players will now be using Absolute Poker's deep-stack tables (40 BB min buy-in, 200 BB max buy-in).

UB players have had their screen names changed to case-insensitive (they will either appear in all lower case or all upper case in the poker client software).

Completed scheduled tournaments are not available in either lobby. As a result, NH BRA is unable to collect completed scheduled tournament results on the Cereus network (we were previously able to on UB).

Bad Beat jackpots appear to have been combined (see screenshots).

While the UB scheduled tournament list had more registering tournaments listed, upcoming scheduled tournaments for both skins (sniper, UBOC) seem to have made the transition to the new network with same betting schedules, chips, fees. Only the tournament ID is changed (for UB tournaments).

It appears 'Roshambo' (previously available on Ultimate Bet) has been discontinued.

Hand Histories on both skins are retaining the same format as previous Absolute Poker hand histories.

Full Ring tables (Cash, SNG and Scheduled) (previously 10-max on UB) are now 9-Max (as with the old AB software).

Two table views have been added (one simulating each previous network). UB players now are able to see and change avatars - custom images. AB players already had this functionality.

The Mini-View table option is no longer available on UB.

Ultimate Bet (and Cereus as a whole) is using Absolute Poker's old rake schedule. Changes for UB players equate to lower rates (better for the player).

Screenshots (note: have some bad fonts in UB screenshot - garbled text not how it would normally appear):
